DNC Chairman Tim Kaine Commemorates September 11th With Service Event on the First Official National Day of Service and Remembrance
September 10, 2009Tomorrow, DNC Chairman Tim Kaine will lead a community service event at SafePlace, a nationally recognized domestic violence and rape crisis center in Austin in commemoration of the terrorist attacks of September 11th 2001 and on the first National Day of Service and Remembrance. President Obama signed the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act into law last April, legislation that connects hundreds of thousands of people to community service opportunities and officially recognizes September 11th as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.
