January 13, 2009 January 13, 2009A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today decried the Bush administration's "apparent indifference" to the dangers faced by the more than 150 American citizens and their family members trapped under Israeli fire in the Gaza Strip. The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) questioned why the U.S. government has not demanded that Israel halt its attacks to allow an evacuation of American citizens. he National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) congratulates CBS News correspondent Byron Pitts on today's announcement that he will be joining the Sunday news magazine "60 Minutes" as a contributing correspondent. Divided We Fail Launches Next Phase of National Campaign to Fix America's Health and Economic Crises
Today leaders of AARP Maryland launched the next phase of Divided We Fail, a national movement to bring health and financial security to every American.
