World Responds to Obama Win - Thousands Sign Global Message, Send Words of Support, Photos, Flowers to Wall at Lincoln Memorial
November 5, 2008Overnight, more than 50,000 people from 184 countries sent messages of congratulations and eagerness to work cooperatively to President-Elect Obama and the United States. Citizens from around the globe are signing a statement and sending personalized notes and photos. A 24-foot Global Message Board is on display at the Lincoln Memorial beginning today at 1:00 p.m. with additional messages added every hour, and 100,000 messages expected within the day. Full release.
