American Red Cross Offering Free Class to Help Military Families Cope With the Stress of Deployments
The American Red Cross today announced a new course. Coping With Deployments: Psychological First Aid for Military Families, is now available. The course, offered free of charge, is open to military family members of active duty, Reserve and National Guard forces, as well as veterans and their families. Presently, the course is offered in sixteen states (Ala., Ark., Calif., Colo., Fla., Hawaii, Ind., Minn., Neb., N.H., Ohio, Ore., Pa., Tenn., Texas, and W.Va.) and Washington, D.C. In recognition of the upcoming Boss Day holiday (October 16), Adecco USA, part of the world's largest recruitment and workforce solutions provider, has released its latest Workplace Insights survey highlighting overall employee sentiments when it comes to their bosses. The survey also asked employed adults which of the two presidential candidates would make a better boss, and the response turns out to be as close as the campaign itself, with 54% giving the nod to Barack Obama and 46% to John McCain. The Republican National Committee (RNC) today added a new friend update to its social networking Web site, http://www.BarackBook.com. The most recent friend update includes Barack Obama's notable association with Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley whose administration has been scandal-plagued. Daley, a third of whose campaign coffers is stocked with money from groups with city contracts, has endorsed Obama's presidential bid -- Obama returned the favor, endorsing Daley's mayoral campaign just two months after three of the mayor's top aides were given federal prison sentences for running the city's corrupt patronage machine. The Republican National Committee (RNC) today announced a new Web video, titled "Guilt By Participation." The video highlights Barack Obama's ties to unrepentant domestic terrorist William Ayers, whose home served as the launching pad for Obama's political career, and with whom Obama served on various boards in Chicago, even writing a favorable review of Ayers' book.
