Governor Rendell Says Effects of Weakening National Economy Showing Here as Jobs Decline, Unemployment Rises in August
September 19, 2008The effects of a weakening national economy made themselves felt in Pennsylvania with a nonfarm job count(1) loss of 5,900 jobs and a four-tenths of a percentage point increase in the state's unemployment rate(2) to 5.8 percent in August, Governor Edward G.
