This Friday, September 19th, Governor Howard Dean will visit Pennsylvania to register voters and continue to campaign on behalf of the Obama-Biden ticket and their message for change. Over the past three months Governor Dean has campaigned in more than 22 states and the District of Columbia to bring Barack Obama's message of change to the grassroots and register voters. Advancement Project, the American Civil Liberties Union, the ACLU of Michigan and the law firm of Pepper Hamilton LLP filed a federal lawsuit late yesterday challenging two statewide voter purge programs that could potentially disfranchise hundreds of thousands of Michigan voters in advance of the November 2008 presidential election. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in Detroit against Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land, Michigan Bureau of Elections Director Christopher M. Thomas, and Ypsilanti Clerk Frances McMullen. Full release

Nine of the nation's largest veterans service organizations, representing a combined 8 million members, today praised Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee Chairman Daniel Akaka (D-Hawaii), House Veterans' Affairs Committee Chairman Bob Filner (D-Calif.), and a group of bipartisan cosponsors for introducing legislation to reform the budget process to assure sufficient, timely and predictable funding for veterans' health care programs. Senior foreign policy advisors to presidential candidates Senator McCain and Senator Obama will debate the future of U.S. foreign policy toward the Asia-Pacific on September 22. The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) is hosting the debate to help inform the public of the presidential candidates' views toward this important region. Rhetoric," will begin running in Miami, Florida on Friday, September 19, 2008.
