The Democratic National Committee today released a new web ad called "When?" that calls into question John McCain's judgment on Iraq. While McCain's allies have been working overtime trying to distort Senator Obama's record on Iraq, today's video shows a disturbing pattern of inconsistent positions and wildly off the mark assessments on the war. While the war has stretched our armed forces to a breaking point, emboldened our enemies and drained resources from Afghanistan -- allowing the Taliban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan to grow stronger than at any time since September 11th -- McCain has refused to offer a clear plan for bringing it to a responsible end. Instead, McCain has been all over the map on when he thinks our troops will be able to come home. Full release Posted by

John McCain's failed economic policy tour continues, and so does his doubletalk. Though he claims to have a "comprehensive economic plan that will create millions of good American jobs," McCain supports more of the same Bush economic policies that have hurt American workers and unfair trade deals that have led to the loss of hundreds of thousands of American jobs. Not exactly good news to the 200,000 workers in Pennsylvania and Ohio who have lost their jobs under President Bush and the millions more worried about keeping theirs. Obama Recently Said He Would Support Legislation Updating The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA): In A Statement Issued On His Website Last Week, Obama Reiterated His Support For The FISA Compromise Legislation. Obama: "The ability to monitor and track individuals who want to attack the United States is a vital counter-terrorism tool, and I'm persuaded that it is necessary to keep the American people safe -- particularly since certain electronic surveillance orders will begin to expire later this summer. Given the choice between voting for an improved yet imperfect bill, and losing important surveillance tools, I've chosen to support the current compromise." The following Op-Ed by Roger Simon is being issued by the Republican National Committee: [T]oday many Americans are asking themselves if their summer driving vacations are really necessary because of the high cost of fuel.
