Christopher Paul, aka "Abdul Malek," aka "Paul Kenyatta Laws," a 44-year-old U.S. citizen born in Columbus, Ohio, has pleaded guilty today to conspiring with others to use a weapon of mass destruction, namely explosive devices, against targets in Europe and the United States in violation of 18 USC, Section 2332a. The U.S. Department of Labor today kicked off its "Transforming the American Workplace: A 21st Century Vision" summit, which focuses on including people with disabilities in the American workforce and reduced barriers to employment. A defense contractor, Raman International Inc. (Raman), pleaded guilty today for its role in a bribery scheme aimed at influencing the award of U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) contracts at Camp Victory, Iraq, the Department of Justice announced today. Full release

As Presidential contenders Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama continued fighting for the Democratic nomination up until the final primary elections, the latest update of the National Taxpayers Union Foundation's (NTUF) candidate cost analysis project shows that the race for votes is also a scramble to boost the federal budget. Sen. Clinton (D-NY) made campaign promises to Puerto Rico residents exceeding $1.1 billion annually - the equivalent of more than $4,300 for each vote that she won in Sunday's primary. Full release

As Congress prepares to reconvene today following the Memorial Day district work period, the American Health Care Association (AHCA) released the results of a new national survey by Zogby International finding that seventy percent of likely U.S. voters oppose an Administration's effort that includes $5 billion, five-year cuts to Medicare-financed nursing home care. In addition, the poll finds, sixty-seven percent say they are less likely to re-elect their Member of Congress if he or she voted for these Medicare cuts. Full release

John McCain and Barack Obama are playing a petty game of "gotcha" while Iraqis demonstrate against the Bush administration's plan to create long-term, if not permanent, bases in Iraq. "The next president should commit to a speedy and complete withdrawal from Iraq," argues Bob Barr, the Libertarian Party candidate for president, "and tell the Iraqi people that the U.S. troops will be going home." The League of Women Voters today announced the launch of a public service announcement (PSA) featuring Oscar(R)-nominated actress Virginia Madsen.
