Ann Lewis, senior advisor to presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), will be featured this week on the American Federation of Government Employees' (AFGE) radio program "Inside Government". Lewis will talk about the Clinton campaign's communications efforts and the Women's Outreach program, which is designed to get women involved in the political process. Full release

Asked today about President Bush's infamous "Mission Accomplished" speech, John McCain said the President should not be held accountable for the banner, but should be blamed for "comments by members of his administration that exaggerated the prospects for success in Iraq in contradiction to the facts on the ground." Not only did the White House accept responsibility for the banner yesterday, but John McCain himself was one of the key voices echoing the misleading rhetoric coming from President Bush and the Bush Administration. This week, even as McCain was traveling the country outlining a flawed health care agenda that does little to increase access to quality, affordable health care for Americas working families, John McCain showed how out of touch he is with Americans with disabilities. Instead of meeting with disability rights activists to explain why he refuses to co-sponsor the Community Choice Act of 2007, Senator McCain's staff allowed more than 20 activists to be arrested in front of his Senate office. The following is being issued by the Democratic National Committee: Five years ago today, President Bush declared that "major combat operations in Iraq have ended" under a banner claiming "Mission Accomplished." Just a few weeks later, McCain echoed the President's rosy rhetoric, proclaiming a "massive victory" in Iraq. Blogged.com, a service to find better blogs, today announced a list of the top 10 blog sites for the Democratic presidential candidates. These two lists were compiled by Blogged.com's in-house editors after evaluating numerous blogs that focused on the two candidates. After a thorough analysis, the top Barack Obama blogs were found to be of higher quality than the top Hillary Clinton blogs on the basis of content quality, frequency of updates, site design, and writing style. John McCain and his Republican allies continued their desperate attempts to deflect attention from McCain's own words about his willingness to keep our troops in Iraq for 100 years. During a media availability in Allentown, McCain said the Democratic National Committee's new "100" ad distorts his words. But, as the New York Times noted, "In the commercial, Mr. McCain's words speak for themselves" and are "not misstated." Worse still, McCain's allies at the Republican National Committee blatantly misrepresented the source of footage in the DNC's ad, even as they defended Republican ads using footage of Osama bin Laden taken from Al-Jazeera.
