The gaps between the incomes of the rich and the poor, and the rich and the middle class, have grown more in Mississippi since the late 1990s than in any other state, according to a new study by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and the Economic Policy Institute, two Washington, DC-based think tanks. Only two states have a larger gap between rich and poor families, and only one state has a larger gap between rich and middle-class families. Full release.

This year is the third consecutive year that the Pennsylvania House of Representatives has declared April, Financial Literacy Month. Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and CPA members of the House, Reps. Despite the fact that John McCain has made the same mistake FIVE times in five months, his campaign continues to claim that John McCain misspoke when he confused Sunni and Shiite extremists in Iraq. After McCain referred to al-Qaeda in Iraq as a Shia group during yesterday's Senate hearing with General Petraeus, McCain's campaign said the senator "stumbled on his words and corrected them immediately."
