As French President Prepares to Visit Chad Capital, Amnesty International Disputes Claims That French Had No Knowledge of Detained Opposition Figures
February 26, 2008Amnesty International has received evidence that the French government knew about the whereabouts of three detained senior Chadian opposition figures as early as February 11, although they publicly denied having any such information. Two of the three are at grave risk of being tortured, the human rights organization said. Full release
