Blunt: 129 Days Later, Still No Veterans' Appropriations Bill
October 23, 2007House Republican Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.) issued the following statement today after the president called on Congress to complete its work on the veterans' and military construction appropriations bill, now a full 129 days removed from when the House first approved the legislation. "The annual appropriations bill setting aside funds for veterans' health care and housing initiatives is among the most important pieces of legislation we consider all year -- and usually, among the least partisan."
