Darfur Activists Turn Up Pressure on 2008 Candidates in Iowa
September 6, 2007From September 7 - 9, concerned citizens of Iowa will come together for a training session aimed at increasing pressure on the presidential candidates to make Darfur a priority in their foreign policy agendas. The first state to hold the 2008 presidential primaries -- and thus a focus for many of the presidential candidates -- Iowa will capture a large portion of the media's attention in the months leading up to the November election. By making Darfur an issue for the candidates, activists will also make the genocide a prominent topic in the media and national conscience. Full release
