Congressman Urges All-English Election Ballots; Cites New Poll Findings Showing Increasing Public Support
March 31, 2006"Americans overwhelmingly want English to be the sole language on all election ballots in the United States, according to a poll by Zogby International commissioned by ProEnglish, an Arlington, Va.-based national organization that backs official English.
U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, today unveiled the new Zogby poll findings at the National Press Club and praised ProEnglish and the Washington D.C.-based Eagle Forum for a letter urging U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner to oppose the Voting Rights Act (VRA) section reauthorizing multilingual ballots."
