Pelosi Statement on Harriet Miers' Withdrawal as United States Supreme Court Nominee
October 27, 2005"House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today in response to Harriet Miers' withdrawal of her nomination for United States Supreme Court Justice:
"The withdrawal of Harriet Miers' nomination to the Supreme Court raises the question: who is in charge here? Initially, questions were raised of whether she was independent of the President.
